The organising committee of the inaugural World Cup 1991.
This is the definitive documentary about the four women who set up the Women's Rugby World Cup, of which director A. D. Cooper is one.
Working alongside renowned rugby broadcaster Nick Heath and established sports documentary company Branded Studios with producer Charlotte Fantelli.
We've recently completed a very successful crowdfunding campaign, raising 104% of our target. This allows us to progress the edit and record the last interviews.
Currently we are organising the use of this archive footage from the UK and overseas to enrich the documentary and this is taking a while to sort. Our archive producer is busy negotiating the vital licences. However, we're now seeking additional investment to license everything we need as these costs are considerable. And once we know what archive we can use, the edit will resume in early 2026.
Please use the Contact form on this website if you are interested in being associated with this origins story.
We welcome the support of World Rugby who have given us access to their archive for many world cups including 2025.
More updates as they happen.
